List of Banks destroyed in Nigeria by hoodlums

After following the peaceful #EndSars protest that was disrupted by hoodlums across Nigeria, the list of banks that were affected during this period has been made known to the public.

Nairabusiness recalls that so many banks were burnt down and looted by hoodlums during the crisis that happened across Nigeria. GTBank’s branch on Admiralty Way, Lekki was allegedly set ablaze by some hoodlums that disguised as #EndSARS protesters. The incident happened after soldiers shot some #EndSARS protesters at Lekki toll gate.

A lot of businesses and companies have been left in ruins and the bank sector was not left out after hoodlums broke into shops and office building vandalizing facilities and looting items after they disrupted and hijacked a peaceful #EndSARS protest.

Thugs attacked about 42 bank buildings which consists of branches of these banks scattered the across the country.

According to reports, hoodlums attacked a total number of 42 bank buildings and they include;

  • First bank – 10 – Aba(3), Umuahia (1), Enugu(1), Ikot Ekpene (1), Lagos (4).
  • Union(10)
  • GTB –(9)
  • Access–8, Lagos (5), Aba(1),Calabar(1), Uyo(1).
  • Heritage – 1, Lagos(1)
  • Ecobank – 1, Benin(1)
  • Stanbic IBTC -2, Lagos(2)
  • Polaris -1, Lagos(1)
